What is The Singapore Ireland Fund? The Singapore Ireland Fund is part of The Ireland Funds, an international network, for people of Irish ancestry and who are friends of Ireland, dedicated to raising funds to support programs with a charitable purpose. The goal is to connect Ireland and Singapore through philanthropy. Globally The Ireland Funds host each year over 100 events in 40 cities across 12 countries.
The Event? Come celebrate the 250th birthday of Arthur Guinness, a special Irishman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, at The Singapore Ireland Fund inaugural Gala Ball on Saturday, November 21st, 2009.
At the Ball, there will be Irish traditional and contemporary music and entertainment. There will be a charity auction and raffle including prizes that are once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The prizes include a trip for 2 to Dublin , a golf trip to Ireland to play 2 of the most famous golf courses in the month, and a trip to France staying in a luxurious hotel and chateau.
The Cause? To help Singaporean children with autism and bring dignity, independence and hope to them and their families. The Eden School an innovative local school is starting a baking skills vocational program, adapted from an I.T.E. certified course–and prepares able students to find employment in the F&B industry, after graduation.
We are facilitating donations to set up and support this baking training programme that will help give a future to these students.
