As part of the St Patrick's Weekend Festival 2009, the Irish Business Association is again hosting the St Patrick's Day Parade. The parade has evolved over the last four years, from 500 participants in '06 to 2,000 in '08. With a great mix of expatriate and local communities, this year's event will showcase multicultural music and dancing groups, packed with Irish & Asian talent & culture.
The event has strong local roots & uniquely brings Ireland and Singapore together in a celebration of our communities and culture.
Starting at Empress Place, by the Asian Civilisations Museum, the Parade will march down the Waterfront, across Cavenagh Bridge, to end at the UOB Plaza. Once there, groups will be performing a show of their own ranging from Irish Dancing (of course) through all the different cultures of Singapore.
To join in you can either turn up with your family and friends, or be part of a participants group.
For further details on group participation and / or sponsorship of the Parade, please contact Patsy Barry at: parade@irishbusinessassociation.com
This year we are trying to be as green as possible, so it is Very Important to WEAR GREEN!
