The Irish Business Association was established in 1992 as a forum for individuals with an interest in commercial relations between Ireland and Singapore. Since 1992, the business ties between the two countries have expanded considerably, and the Association has evolved to meet the changing needs of the business community. Membership is open to all nationalities and professions.

The Irish Business Association has developed an active calendar of events, from informal networking gatherings to business lunches and dinners, often to coincide with visits of Senior political, business, and sporting figures from Ireland.

Guests of honour in recent years have included Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Bertie Ahern, Irish Minister for Transport Mr Martin Cullen, and Dr Tom Hardiman, Director of the Asia Europe Foundation.

Irish and Singapore political and business leaders have acknowledged the similarities between the two republics and heralded the significant opportunities which exist to build on our strong economic and cultural ties in the future.

The Irish Business Association has recognized this potential, and is committed to expanding its membership base, with a focus on expanding opportunities for members, building on its constitutional objectives:

* To provide a forum in Singapore for individuals and companies with an interest in Ireland/Singapore commercial relations.

* To represent, express and give effect to the views of the Irish Business Community in Singapore regarding trade, investment, finance, industry and related matters.

* To facilitate members gathering at regular networking events and seminars, and work to develop ties with other business groups in Singapore and the region.
